NEW FILM: DRAMA FEATURE FILM 'WHITE ELEPHANT'

Jaded Pictures has completed principal photography of its first feature film, WHITE ELEPHANT, starring Zaarin Bushra, Gurleen Singh, Dulmika Kevin Hapuarachchi, Jesse Nasmith, Amanda Catibog, Yahya Amin, Kalyna Fisher, Riley James Myers, and Kumar Kapsi. The film is written and directed by Andrew C, produced by Christopher Nguyen and Andrew C, executive produced by Elegoa Cultural Productions, associate produced by Sasha Fevez and Dave Lam, with cinematography by Dave Lam.

The filmmakers would like to acknowledge the support of Elegoa Cultural Productions, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Varley Art Gallery of Markham, and the Liaison of Independent Filmmakers of Toronto (LIFT) for making the film possible.

Set in 1996, WHITE ELEPHANT takes place in a majority-minority neighbourhood in Scarborough, about a 16-year-old Pooja who finds herself torn between her crush on a white boy, and her Brown and Black friends. Her relentless pursuit takes a violent turn, ultimately making her quest for love, a question of self-love. Check out the trailer on the Projects page.
